Cold winter weather can wreak havoc on your skin, hair and nails. Here’s a healthy winter skin care regimen- with beauty care products that are natural and nourishing. The cold days of winter bring a discomforting dryness to your skin. Besides the general dry feeling, some people suffer from more serious skin conditions such as flakes, cracks and even eczema (inflammation of skin). The weather may be unpleasant, but your skin should not be. The winter weather may affect your skin in various ways.




  • To do away with the conditions of dryness during winters, consumption of fruits and healthy veggies with olive oil and primrose juice prove to be a good help.
  • Application of coconut oil before your bath can be helpful for reducing external dryness and chaps.
  • If you’re applying oil, choose the ones that do not clog skin pores.
  • Almond oil, primrose oil and avocado oil are non- clogging oils; and they should be preferred over those that cause pore- blockage.

  • If your skin is naturally oily, then avoid using oily skin products on your face.
  • Apply sufficient moisturizers, glycerine or herbal oils on your finger and toe nails to prevent brittleness of nails.
  • Use cotton socks and gloves to cover yourself from harsh winters to defeat flaky, chapped and itchy cracks.
  • Do not use face packs or masks that take out natural oils and moisturizers from your skin. That’s why you should avoid using mud packs for the same reason. You can have cleansing milk instead.
  • Face masks that contain avocado extracts with olive oil are helpful.
  • A blend of buttermilk, yogurt and sour cream can prove to be helpful to activate the collagen content of skin
  • Use a lip balm containing Vitamin E to overcome dry and chapped lips.
  • To get rid of cracks on feet, take a therapeutic cream or a lotion that contains Vitamin E. in extreme cases, go for anti- biotic ointment. 
  • Use sunscreens that have high moisturizing content.
  • One of the most vital tips for winter is to use minimum water. Pat yourself dry after every wash or a shower. Make sure to wear gloves to keep your hands protected.
  • To keep your indoor environment moisturized and well hydrated, use humidifiers.
